Configuring Your LISTSERV Lists

This section allows list owners to change their list configuration directly through the web interface. The list configuration keywords have been divided into 10 tabs according to their function.

My Configuration

This tab shows your current list header. To change an individual keyword, simply click on its name. List owners who are very comfortable with the format of the LISTSERV list header and the keywords can edit the list header directly by clicking on "Edit Manually". To return to the Wizard interface, click on "Edit with Wizard".

Descriptions

This tab allows you to change the titles and descriptions for your list:

• List Title
• List Description
• HTML Description

Administrators

This tab allows you to change the people who administer the list. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Owner
• Editor
• Moderator
• Notify
• Review

Subscriptions

This tab allows you to change the most important settings that define who can subscribe and send to the list and whether confirmation is required. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Subscription
• Send
• Ack
• Daily-Threshold
• Confirm-Delay
• Digest
• Topics
• Default-Topics
• Default-Options

Security

This tab allows you to change security-related settings, including whether the list is confidential and how validation is handled. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Confidential
• Local
• Service
• Exit
• Validate

Archives and Logs

This tab allows you to change settings related to the list archives and who can access them as well as whether to keep a log of subsciption changes for the list. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Notebook
• Notebook-Header
• RSS-Abstract-Words
• Change-Log

Attachments

This tab allows you to change settings dealing with attachments and whether they should be allowed on the list. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Attachments
• Sizelim
• Misc-Options

Error Handling

This tab contains keywords dealing with bounce handling, subscription renewals, filtering and error handling. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Auto-Delete
• Renewal
• Filter
• Loopcheck
• Errors-To
• Safe

Distribution

This tab contains more advanced configuration settings handling mail distribution. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• Mail-Via
• Newsgroups
• Prime
• Reply-To
• Sender
• Peers
• Sub-lists
• Subject-Tag
• X-Tags
• New-List

Other

This tab contains other miscellaneous and more advanced configuration settings. The following keywords are available under this tab:

• DBMS
• Indent
• Language
• Mail-Merge
• Misc-Options
• Translate

To update your list configuration, click on the tab of your choice and locate the keywords that you want to change. Use the applicable pulldown menus and text boxes to make your changes, and then click the "Update" button. To revert to the most recent settings, click the "Revert button.

Clicking on an individual keyword brings out a screen with only that keyword as well as a full description of its function. If you know exactly which keyword you want to change, you can use the "Keyword" text box to search for it. If you want to see an alphabetical list of all keywords, click on "Show All Keywords". To return to the tabbed categorites, click on "Show Keyword Categories".

Note: Not all keywords are listed using "Basic Mode". For more information on these settings and to change to "Expert Mode", go to the General Preferences tab under Preferences.
